implants implants process

If any of your teeth are missing, it is important that you have them replaced as soon as possible.  When you are chewing or eating with a missing tooth, your bite can become unstable and may even cause discomfort in your mouth. Your mouth may even shift and cause your face to look older when you do not replace your tooth. An implant is a great way to replace your missing teeth and when you care for your implant properly, it can last for the rest of your life!

An implant is an artificial tooth that is made from metal and porcelain and is made to look just like your natural tooth. The first part of your implant is the titanium implant that will replace your missing root. The second part of the implant is the crown that is made to look like your natural tooth.  The crown is cemented on the titanium implant. With the technology that is used to make these teeth now, you can smile with confidence. No one should be able to tell that you have a tooth that is not a natural tooth.

An implant is not only used to replace teeth, but can also be used to anchor dentures. If your lower dentures shift when you are talking or chewing, this may be a great treatment option for you. Implants can also take the place of missing teeth for those patients that use removable partial dentures, to ensure that they have a natural-looking smile.
