Meet Dr. Howard Posner
Howard Posner, DDS
I really enjoy working with people of all ages. It is a blessing to me to be able to reach out and try to make people comfortable and excited about improving their oral health and sometimes their appearance. I have been so happy to see the growth and changes people go through, and it is a privilege to try to be a positive influence in that change.
Education and Continuing Education
It has been 38 years since graduation from dental school. I graduated from New York University College of Dentistry, where I earned a Doctorate of Dental Surgery. Upon graduating, I served for two years as a Captain in the United States Army in the Dental Corps. After two years of active duty, I continued on in the US Army Reserves and attended the University of Connecticut College of Dentistry, completing a two-year Graduate Program in the Specialty of Pediatric Dentistry.
Since graduating from dental school, I have always been strongly committed to staying at the forefront of new changes and advances in the field of dentistry. I have taken hundreds of hours of continuing education seminars, advanced training programs, study clubs, online courses, and journal study primarily in the areas of pediatric dentistry and orthodontics, Invisalign®, Lumineers®, cosmetic dentistry, and TMJ therapy.
In the Practice
There is never a scarcity of smiles in our office. I cannot think of a more dedicated, friendly, sincere, and committed group of people. Our staff is our most precious resource. They work well as a team and are a major part of the success and patient loyalty we've been blessed to enjoy for 34 years in Bristol.
In the Community
I am very active with my church's activities, and it has given me the opportunity to work with children, teenagers, and adults with many teaching and leadership responsibilities. I have been involved with the Boy Scouts, and I have often served as a councilor for the Dentistry Merit Badge. I have also been a volunteer in my neighborhood for the March of Dimes, Heart Association, American Cancer Society, and other charities.
I have been married for over 40 years to my wife, Wendy, who has been my best friend. She is a former elementary school teacher and now volunteers her time teaching adult literacy classes. I have four children: two boys and two girls, three of which are married. They have all been my inspiration and joy. I am the proud grandfather of five wonderful grandchildren with one more on the way! It has been an incredible experience helping my children to believe in themselves and work hard to accomplish their dreams.
When I have free time, I enjoy photography, carpentry, furniture building, home improvements, hiking, martial arts, yoga, weightlifting, playing the guitar and piano, singing in the choir, and anything to do with cars.
